The 2021 Race Day was a wonderful day for running or walking the Stampede after losing the 2020 event to the pandemic. The weather was beautiful and runners and walkers came back in great numbers. Among the most notable performances were two national age group records for the 10-mile race.
Jacob and Jenny continued their incredible running performances at the 2021 Stampede. Jacob broke the national record for his age group (65-69) with a time of exactly 1:01:00, a mile pace of 6:06. The old record of 1:02:07 had been in place since 1989.
Jenny broke her own record (AG 55-59) from 2018 by 5 seconds and was right on Jacob's heels with a finishing time of 1:01:15. That is a mile pace of 6:08.
Congratulations to both of these exceptional athletes.
